About EASPD

Who is EASPD?

 

EASPD, a non-profit NGO in the disability sector, promotes the affairs of close to 10000 social services and their umbrella associations. There are over 60 million people with a disability throughout Europe. The main objective of EASPD is to promote the equalisation of opportunities for people with disabilities through effective and high quality service systems.

 

What can we do for you?

 

Do you want to get a voice in Europe, monitor and influence European developments in the social sector, receive up-to-date news and participate in innovative projects? You will find the necessary representativeness and a professional team for lobbyingon the European level. You will receive newsflashes with latest news, comments and explanations about relevant European developments. You will be informed about European Commission budget lines and funding possibilities. And you will get access to conferences, seminars and forums about key topics in the disability field organized by EASPD and its partners. You will be part of a network that provides a broad basis of knowledge, experience and a view across countries. You will have access to a European platform for exchange. And you will get assistance to apply for EU funded projects.

 

What are our objectives?

 

EASPD plays a key role on a European level as a representative of disability service providers, working for an inclusive Europe. Knowing that 50% of national legislation comes from the EU, EASPD wants to significantly influence European disability &socio-economic policy by having a permanent presence in Brussels and by working with other European and international networks.

 

What are our principles?

 

The principles of EASPD are aiming at high quality of services facilitating full participation and inclusion in society in an appropriate way for persons with a disability. To achieve this EASPD is committed to:

 

  • User participation in the development and delivery of services§ The implementation of governance principles
  • Active lifelong learning opportunities for staff
  • Focus on Accessibility, availability, affordability and adaptability of services
