How do we work?

The main objective of EASPD is to promote the equalisation of opportunities for people with disabilities though effective and high quality service systems. This objective is achieved through the work of three pillars:

IMPACT "your voice in Europe"

by monitoring, responding to and influencing the development of European policies

  • EASPD has three Standing Committees (Employment, Education and Enlargement) and a Policy Impact Group. All working groups serve as a lobby instrument in each corresponding field. Three new interest groups on ICT & Assistive Technology, Mental Health and Occupation Services were set up recently to tackle the main challenges as experienced by the sector.
  • EASPD is involved in several discussions on the European level which are of importance for the social service provision sector.
  • EASPD works on different own innitiatives like a European Quality Principles Framework in order to proactively influence European policies and society.

INNOVATION "your tool to progress"

by developing and participating in action research to improve service provision and inclusion of people with disabilities

  • EASPD strongly believes in evidence based developments and is therefore involved in many research and action projects focussing on various themes such as accessibility, availability, affordability and adaptability of services, vocational training, education and employment, policy impact assessment, sectorial changes,…
  • EASPD has set up a comprehensive knowledge in European partnerships as project coordinator and project manager as well as project partner. In the last few years three Knowledge Centres were developed.
  • EASPD emphasised an innovative, bottom-up process in the development of new structures and initiatives

INFORMATION "your gateway to Europe"
