Lifelong Learning Programme-Leonardo da Vinci- Multilateral projects
The project under the title “ Development of a common training programme for ABI caregivers / ABI” has been selected for Community co-financing by the Executive Agency EACEA under the 2009 Call for Proposals for the Leonardo da Vinci Multiraleral Projects of Innovation.
The project work will be lead by a large international Consortium with a compliment of 8 partners, 4 from Slovenia and 4 from other European countries:
• Zavod Zarja : www.zavod-zarja.si / Slovenia (applicant organisation, coordinator),
• Zavod Korak: www.zavod-korak.si / Slovenia,
• Zavod Naprej: www.zavodnaprej.si / Slovenia,
• VDC Nova Gorica: www.vdcng.si / Slovenia,
• Regionalis Szolialis Forraskozpont Kht. / Hungary: www.rszfk.hu ,
• Mutualite Francaise Anjou-Moyenne-Arceau-Anjou / France: www.arceau-anjou.fr ,
• Berufsforderungsinstitut Oberosterreich / Austria: www.bfi-ooe.at ,
• European Association of Service providers for persons with disabilities (EASPD) / Belgium: www.easpd.eu.
The aim of the project is by introducing knowledge and experience from different countries to develop a common training programme for long-term ABI care-givers/providers as a uniform formal approach in staff training at a European level .
The basis for the application was a questionnaire survey report conducted in Slovenia in December 2008. 95% staff working directly with persons with ABI in different organisations and institutions concluded they needed specialized training in “how to do”.
The project will respond to the growing need for training and education among care providers employed in organisations and instititions for long-term care and support for persons who suffered an ABI and in pre-existing community service models. The project will ensure them the acquisition of necessary knowledge, skills and attitude needed to provide quality services. It will also provide recognition of competency level and potential and improve the appeal of working in services for long-term care and support for ABI.
The project will ensure comparability of the training programme and will enhance and promote equal standards in ABI service providers training among partner countries allowing its transferability as an example of good practice to other, non-partner countries.
The project duration will be 25 months ( starting on 01.10.2009 and ending on 31.10.2011).
The 2-days kick-off start meeting of the project took place in Ljubljana 0n Thursday 15. and Friday 16. October 2009. All partner members got acquainted to each other, discussed and made further planning and decisions on the project activities, partner roles, tasks and adopted some dissemination strategies.
On Thursday 11th and Friday 12th March 2010, a second meeting was organised in Angers (France). During this meeting, a lot of time was spent on the development of the training programme.
