Creating a Common Foundation in Care

What’s the project all about?

This two-year project directly follows on from the European Care Certificate (ECC) project. EASPD is working with fourteen partners from thirteen different countries in the European Union.

The project kicked-off in November 2009 in Brussels. The second meeting took place in May 2010 in Cyrus; the third meeting was again in Brussels in December 2010. In April 2011 the project partners met again in Budapest, Hungary to discuss the latest developments of the project.

The project’s main aim is to embed the European Care Certificate throughout the partner countries that will be using it, make adjustments or improvements to the certificate, to translate all material and exams in the different languages of the project partners and add it to the National Qualification Framework. The ECC will also be directly referenced to the European Qualification Framework. An online version of the ECC is in development. By the end of the project in October 2011 at least 1000 candidates across the EU countries should have taken and passed the exam.

The final conference of the project will take place in Bologna, Italy on September 15th, 2011.
