WiSE-MoVE

Background

WiSE-MoVE is a Leonardo Da Vinci project that started in October 2006. The project will run for three years. Partners from Belgium, Finland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the UK will create, develop and share with others a model of training for use across Europe for those who support peole with learning disabilities in work. Its unique starting point & purpose is to put in place for the first time a recognised and "accreditable" training and learning structure for a particular target group - "Informal Job coaches".

Innovative appraoch

WiSE-MoVE breaks new ground by tackling the learning needs of those who act as 'job coaches' for people with learning disabilities but who are not full-time specialist practicioners. The project will develop a specialised training course to be delivered by professional job coaches, based upon skills needs analysis undertaken by all project partners. Ongoing results will be publicised and prepared for formal accreditation.

EASPD's role

EASPD's main task in this project is the dissemination and valorisation of project results. A kick-off meeting has taken place in December 2006 in the UK and the second project-meeting was organised in Sweden in May 2007.
