Provider Fora 2007/2008

 

Warsaw, Poland (6-7 November 2008)

During the 2 day seminar the following topics were discussed: the role of EASPD and its strategic position in Brussels, in the heart of Europe and close to decision-making bodies, the “lobbying” possibilities of EASPD members and its partners, EASPD’s capacity of monitoring and influencing the development of European policies in order to improve services and the inclusion of disabled people.

Ljubljana, Slovenia (6-7 November 2008)
The forum was organised by EASPD in cooperation with SOUS, Zveza Sonček and the Institute for Rehabilitation in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to discuss a possible strengthening of the sector and to be introduced to the EU and the different opportunities and challenges the status of ‘EU member state’ brings.

Varna, Bulgaria (6-8 October 2008)
The prepared program and secured conditions created an opportunity for active discussion among participants. Several major topics were discussed:

1. New emphasis in the European social policies and innovative practices.

2. Reforms and rapid development of social services in Bulgaria.
3. Quality and coverage of social services for people with disabilities.
4. The role of municipalities in the development of social services in Bulgaria.

Bratislava, Slovakia (2-3 October 2008)
SOCIA – Social Reform Foundation was the EASPD national partner at the Providers Forum in Bratislava. Invited were directors of providers of social services, agencies for supported employment, sheltered workshops and leaders of public administration.

Prague, Czech Republic (17 April 2008)
The aim of the seminar was to invite all stakeholders interested in employment of people with disabilities.
Prague, Czech Republic (30 September 2008)
On the 30th of September 2008, there was another meeting taking place in the Parliament of the Czech Republic with a title: "Discussions over current topics in regard to employment of people with people with disabilities”.

Ostrava, Czech Republic (18-19 October 2007)
The conference focused on the importance of networking amongst service providers to achieve better results and offer people with disability high quality of the services. Varna, Bulgaria (1-4 October 2007) The Forum focused on the following topics: National and European policies, structures and regulations of the EU in social affairs; innovative approaches in the social policies of Varna Municipality; the current state of play and perspectives for the development of social services in Bulgaria; National and EU project budget lines and programs, European organizations of and for persons with disabilities.
