New Study: Unlocking the Juncker Package for Social Services

EASPD announces its study on unlocking the Juncker Package (European Fund for Strategic Investment -EFSI) for the Social Services sector. The study provides practical steps and recommendations on how to ensure that EFSI supports the financing of projects in this sector, as well as an overall analysis of the barriers currently hindering this process; both from the perspective of social service providers and financial intermediaries.  Read more
 

European Parliament’s call to the Commission: “how the European Semester can help to implement the UN CRPD”

The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Parliament (EP) adopted a draft report calling on the European Commission (EC) to develop a concrete plan on how the European Semester will be used to implement the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. EASPD Photo Competition – Deadline: 27th March 2016

In the run-up to its 20th anniversary, the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) launches the photo competition Revealed & Unveiled. The photo competition wishes to highlight the work of service providers for persons with disabilities across Europe.  Read more

ERA seminar on EU Disability Law and the UN CRPD

On 18 and 19 April 2016, the Academy of European Law (ERA) organises a seminar on EU Disability Law and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The seminar takes place at ERA conference centre in Trier, Germany, and is addressed to legal practitioners, NGOs, equality bodies and academics. The deadline for applications is the 9 March 2016. FIRAH launches the 2016 call for projects

The International Foundation of Applied Disability Research (FIRAH) opened the 2016 call for projects. The themes of the annual call are access to education; mobility; ageing in people with disabilities; the transition between residential care and support services and independent living; support for caregivers. The deadline to submit the letters of intent is the 25 March 2016. Read more

Launch of the third phase of PESSIS - Promoting employers' social services in social dialogue

On the 21st January 2016, the third phase of the PESSIS project was launched in a kick-off meeting organized by EASPD bringing together partners from both European level and national level. Read more

Two workshops in Budapest on “The new dimension in social protection towards community based living”

The Hungarian organisation FSZK (Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities) organises two international workshops to exchange the experiences and examine the results of the project “New dimension in social protection towards community based living”. The workshops will take place in Budapest on 1st April and 17th June 2016. Read more
