EASPD contributes to the European Parliament Hearing on the CRPD implementation in Europe

As part of the consultation with stakeholders, the European Parliament hosted a public hearing to exchange on the implementation of the CRPD and the recommendations made last year by the United Nations to the European Union. This EP consultation aimed to gather concrete input from the disability movement to support the drafting of a work document and a report on this issue previous to the Committee meeting discussions.  Read more

The Co-Chairs of the European Expert Group on the transition from institutional to community-based care (EEG) express their gratitude in a video to Zero Project for the award received last year as innovative practice on independent living. Read more

 

Registration for the next EASPD Conference “Growing together” in Chisinau is open!

EASPD organizes in cooperation with the Alliance of Organisations for People with Disabilities from Moldova and with the support of EurlyAid, Zero Project, Inclusion Europe, Unicef Moldova and SOIR Moldova is organising, the 21st-22nd April 2016, an international conference in Chisinau, Moldova on the state of play of early childhood intervention in Europe. In 2016, EASPD celebrates its 20th anniversary. Under the slogan “Join the Trip! 20 Years on the Road”, EASPD will organise exciting events and activities which will bring service providers, persons with disabilities, decision makers and other partners and stakeholders together in Brussels. EASPD Photo Competition – Deadline: 27th March 2016

In the run-up to its 20th anniversary, the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) launches the photo competition Revealed & Unveiled. The photo competition wishes to highlight the work of service providers for persons with disabilities across Europe.  Read more

Council of Europe call for nominations for the 2016 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), in partnership with the Vaclav Havel Library and the Charta 77 Foundation, has issued a call for nominations for the 2016 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize, which will be awarded for the fourth consecutive year on 10 October next in Strasbourg. European conference on access to justice and legal capacity for persons with intellectual disabilities - Project AJuPID

The partners of the project AJuPID (Access to Justice for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) organise from 10 to 11 March 2016 in Sofia, Bulgaria, a conference to reflect on the implementation of articles 12 and 13 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). Support the Entelis Manifesto!

On the 12th and 13th of November 2015, The National Federation of voluntary Bodies Providing Services to People with Intellectual Disabilities hosted an Entelis seminar in Dublin, Ireland. Over these 2 days, the Entelis partnership finalized and launched the Entelis Manifesto.Read more

Greek workshop Panagia Eleousa awarded by the Academy of Athens

The workshop Panagia Eleousa was awarded by the Academy of Athens for its contribution to the social services sector in Greece. This workshop is addressed to young people with intellectual disabilities and was created in 1990 at the prefecture of Etoloakarnania, Greece. Read more
 

The new course program „Future Learning with iPads and Tablets” 2016/17 is online!

Atempo announces the new courses 2016 / 2017. The training programmes focused on the use of mobile devices in education. More precisely, the different training programmes address the possibilities and ways to integrate tablets into school, adult and vocational education or in the field of education of people with additional support needs. Mobility grants are possible for those interested to participate under the EU program Erasmus + by 02/02/2016. Read more
