Inspire is a non-profit organization that leads the way in providing therapeutic, education and leisure services to persons with disabilities in Malta and Gozo. Through close relations with parents, government and the business community we aim to reach out and assist those who are excluded; to give them choice and opportunity and to emphasize their human rights and equal access to independence, education, employment, leisure and an inclusive community. We depend on voluntary giving, volunteering and social enterprise to continue to support those in need, in order to make a difference in the lives of the people we help.
Id-Dar tal-Providenza was set up by Mons. Michael Azzopardi on 12 September 1965, when he received the first donation to create a home for persons with disabilities who, for some reason, could not continue to live with their families. His aim was to offer a home with a warm and family-like environment. Since then, Id-Dar tal-Providenza has supported its residents to participate and enjoy life within the community with the aim of improving and maintaining the person’s quality of life.
Id-Dar tal-Providenza currently offers residence to 115 persons with disabilities. The residence is made up of a complex of 9 flatlets in Siġġiewi, where the majority of the residents live, and four small residences in Siġġiewi, B’Kara, Zurrieq and Qawra.
