International conference: "New dimensions in social protection towards community-based living"

The international conference "New dimension in social protection towards community based living” is organised by Equal Opportunities of Persons with Disabilities Non-profit Ltd. (FSZK), the Hand in Hand Foundation and in cooperation with the EASPD Standing Committee on Inclusive Living and the ministry for Social affairs and protection of the children from Hungary. EESC invites you to the Civil Society Days 2016

The Liaison group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organises the Civil Society Days 2016 from May 31st to June 1st in Brussels, Belgium. This year the focus will be on migration and how Europe can be made more open and adapt to what needs to be seen as a structural change. Read more
 

ESN’s disability working group

The fourth meeting of ESN’s disability working group took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 5 April 2016. Together with service users from Bulgaria and the UK, ESN members discussed ways to involve service users in the design, implementation and evaluation of services. Read more
 

Mr Gero Stuller decorated with the “Medal of civil merits” by the President of the Republic of Moldova

On April 27th 2016, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr Nicolae Timofti, decorated Mr Gero Stuller, Social Affairs Ministry´s special attaché at the Austrian Embassy to the Republic of Moldova, with the “Medal of civil Merits” (Medalia “Meritul Civic”) for his Merits in the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova and the rehabilitation and integration of people with disability in labour market. The Centre for the Advancement of Civil Society Organisations organises on 30 May 2016 from 13h30 to 17h00 a workshop on Crowdfunding and Collaborative Funding for NGOs. Read more

International conference: Innovation and Collaboration in the Creative Arts Therapies

The EASPD member organisation Cope Foundation organises on the 30th June 2016 in cooperation with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT), CIT Cork School of Music, Suisha Inclusive Arts and SES, an international conference in Cork, Ireland. Read more

 

Joint statement on the UN CRPD: the French delay

The joint Committee of organisations representing persons with disabilities and their parents together with the French Council of Disabled People for European Affairs lamented in a press release the fact that the French State has submitted with delay its report presenting the measures taken to fulfil its obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). According to the press release, this delay shows a lack of respect for its international commitments. Read more
