The European project ILLICO (Independent Living skills: Learning & Investing in people with disabilities, Co-Operating with families and service providers to support de-institutionalisation) is hosting its final conference on the 21st of June. This will mark the completion of transnational work aiming to give people with intellectual disabilities tools to acquire the necessary skills for independent living and to facilitate the cooperation between families and professionals.
Round table discussions will be held with various key actors (users, professionals, families) to discuss the issues addressed through the different outputs. The topics to be examined include:
- What does it mean to live independently?
- Peer counselling
- The role of the family in accessing independent living
The conference will be held in French with live translation in English. Interventions in English will be translated into French.
