Academy of European Law to host Annual Conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2020

21-23 October 2020 (mornings)

Persons with disabilities are often deprived of the right to exercise their legal capacity and forced to be represented by an appointed legal guardian. This conference by the Academy of European Law (ERA), a not-for-profit Foundation aiming at enabling individuals and authorities to gain a wider knowledge of European Law, will provide a forum for discussion of the challenges involved in the application of key notions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, relevant EU law and the European Convention of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, as well as of best practice in the field. This event is organised by Sanja Jovičić (European Academy of Law) with the support of the Disability Thematic Network of the European Foundation Centre (EFC) and the European Disability Forum (EDF).
