Beit Issie Shapiro and FIU Embrace: Live Webinar Series on Play and Leisure for Children with Disabilities

Israel-based not-for-profit organisation Beit Issie Shapiro is partnering up with Florida International University's Embrace Programme to host a series of 3 webinars, all focusing on play and leisure for children with disabilities, particularly, how parents and caregivers can create an environment with the right conditions to learn and play.

Webinar 1: Building Blocks of Play: The Development of Play and its Importance - Parents' Role

Yael Yoshei will guide us through why playing is so important, what are the right toys at the right age and what role parents play in the development of their child through playing.

Webinar 2: Snakes and Ladders: Barriers and Facilitators for Play in Early Childhood

Children with disabilities are faces with several difficulties when playing, and parents must learn how to overcome them. Good practices to do this will be discussed in this webinar by Yael Yoshei.

Webinar 3: Promoting Play and Leisure throughout Childhood for Children with Disabilities

Children with disabilities must be included in leisure and play activities. Noa Nitzan and Dana Cappel will give us an insight on the physical, cognitive and social barriers in the children's environment impacting play and how the best conditions can be created to promote inclusion.
