Thursday, April 22, 2021 - 14:00 to 16:00

WEBINAR: Child Guarantee: making it work for children with disabilities
Thursday 22nd April, 14:00 - 16:00 CEST.

On the 24th of March, the European Commission launched its proposal for a Council Recommendation establishing the Child Guarantee, in the framework of the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan.

This upcoming Webinar is co-hosted by EASPD and MEP Dragoș Pîslaru. It will first present the Child Guarantee and the results of the EASPD commissioned report entitled "Assessment of funding models for a successful implementation of the Child Guarantee”. The report analysed the success of the Youth Guarantee in reaching persons with disabilities as well as the services supporting them, identifying any key lessons learnt. It brings to light both challenges and bottlenecks faced as well as models of good practices. Confirmed speakers include the author of the report, Rebeca Lucas and EASPD President James Crowe.

The Webinar will also discuss the impact of the Child Guarantee on children with disabilities, one of its main target groups and on services supporting them. Key stakeholders from the European Council, Parliament and Civil Society will look to express their views on this key issue. Confirmed speakers include Katerina Nanou, Advocacy Advisor for Save the Children and co-chair of Alliance for Investing in Children, MEPs Brando Benifei, Dennis Radtke, and Karin Astegger, EASPD Vice-President.
