EASPD and KVPS are happy to announce that the 2019 EASPD Conference ‘Staff Matters! Disability Workforce of Tomorrow’, will be a part of the official programme of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU 2019. This is a unique opportunity to gain wider visibility for issues of workforce development in social care and support services in Europe.
Finland’s EU Presidency period will begin on 1 July 2019. The presidency of the Council rotates every six months among the EU Member States. Finland will work together with Romania and Croatia to set long-term goals and prepare a common agenda determining the topics and major issues that will be addressed by the Council over an 18 month period.
The EASPD conference, which will take place on 3-4 October 2019, will focus on the topics of recruitment, retention and training of social care & support workforce, issues which are high on the political agenda in several European countries. Conference participants will discuss and share best practices on how to manage human resources to facilitate the implementation of the UN CRPD.
Registrations for the Helsinki conference are expected to open in May, 2019.
