NGO funding. Tricky business.
Dear friends from across the continent,
Hopefully your summer was as relaxing and inspiring as mine. I enjoyed the hospitality of the Albanians and the beauty of their nature. Although the country has huge problems it also has a lot to offer.
In Brussels and Strasbourg people slowly return to "working mode", emails start to pile up again and the communication amongst NGOs is livelier than ever before. Indeed, due to the fact that the EC launched a call for so called Joint Actions, many NGOs are trying to put together proposals responding to the needs of the social sector and its structures at EU and national level. The RACE project is coming to an end. Since November 2011, partners from 5 different countries worked closely together to look at how to enable persons with disabilities to enter the open labour market and to provide employers and VET providers in Turkey and Italy with the tools to gain competences to facilitate supported employment. Training material from former EU projects was adapted and was then piloted in 2013 by professional trainers on supported employment in Turkey and Italy. Successful meetings between several employers from different economic sectors took place in Belgium, Italy, Turkey and France in the first part of 2013.You can read more here
