Some important events are planned during this autumn:

13th November  2013 - 14:00 to 17:00
The new Public Procurement directive, a step forward for the quality and sustainability of SSGI.

The new Directive on Public Procurement aiming at  simplify rules and procedures and making them more flexible will be soon become law. Some evaluation can already be done on its consequences on Social Services of General Interest and in particular on the quality of services for persons with disabilities. Will the new directive ensure that social services are awarded according to quality criteria and not only on cost basis?
This issue will be discussed by EASPD, MEP Pietikäinen and MEP Torvalds, EU policy makers, service providers, service users' organisations and other representatives from civil society at the European Parliament.
