EASPD Webinar: Adapting services for persons with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic

Wednesday 1st April 14h00-15h00 CEST

Having initially originated in the Hubei province of China, the COVID-19 virus has since swept across the world, with varying consequences for for the countries we live in.

Many countries have now been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, but not all countries have responded in the same way. China, Italy, Spain and France have experienced some of the severest consequences of the virus and, as a result, these countries have also implemented some of the strictest responses against COVID-19.

In the face of the COVID-19 virus, and the measures their national governments have implemented, support service providers have had to take their own actions, to be able to continue to provide essential care & support services to those who need it most.

This webinar will bring together experts and local service providers from China, Spain and Malta who will present and discuss their response to the crisis in their region to:

  • Learn from the experiences in China, and how support services in the city of Wuhan responded during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak
  • Learn about how support services in Europe are responding to the virus at different stages of the outbreak in their country
  • Gain understanding of the necessary provisions needed by support and social care staff to be able to continue to work safely.
