EASPD Webinar: Health needs of persons with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic

On Wednesday 11th March the World Health Organisation officially characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic, meaning that the disease has spread around the world beyond the expectations of health experts.

Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment, but for some the virus can cause serious illness with a threat to life. Vulnerable people, including persons with disabilities, can be at increased risk of catching this disease and may require additional medical support.

This webinar will bring together health experts and support service providers to discuss specific, technical advice on the needs of persons with disabilities in the current circumstances. The webinar will aim to clarify common misconceptions and provide further information on the specific types of care and support some persons, with certain types of disabilities may require.
