The European elections in May brought with it newly voted 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), who will carry out the 2019-2024 EU parliamentary term. Over 61% of these MEPs join the European Parliament for the first time, having never been elected as a MEP previously.
With these newly elected and (re-elected) MEPs taking their seat in Brussels and Strasbourg comes also a plethora of new opportunities for support service providers to have their voices heard, on the issues that are of key importance for them.
To support its Members, to meet and engage with their newly elected MEPs, EASPD is holding an ‘MEP Meet and Greet’ event in the European Parliament (Brussels) on 4th December from 17:00-19:00.
The event will bring together Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and EASPD members, to meet and discuss with the issues that matter EASPD members the most. Over the two-hour event EASPD will host a panel discussion with key MEPs, to present EASPD’s #FundInclusion proposals, before a drinks reception in which you will be able to speak personally with your MEPs.
To support our members in participating in EASPD’s “MEP Meet and Greet” there will be the possibility for you to apply for one of 10 grants, which will enable you to be reimbursed for up to €350 of your travel and subsistence costs. Please note that to be eligible for receiving this grant you must also attend an earlier event, hosted by the Steering Board for Social Infrastructure. If you wish to attend the event, and apply for a grant, please complete the registration form here by 28th October 2019. Please be aware this is for EASPD members only. For any further questions, please contact Rachel Vaughan, EASPD External Communications Officer
