The right to work is a fundamental right and forms an inseparable and inherent part of human dignity. For many people with disabilities they are unable to fully exercise this right, despite Article 27 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights for People with Disabilities (UN CRPD) asserting the right of people with disabilities to work, on an equal basis with others.
