EU Alliance for Investing in Children calls on EU to prioritise needs of children and families

The COVID19 pandemic is foreseen to bring severe socio-economic challenges that will affect EU children and families across the EU. On the 16th April, the EU Alliance for Investing in Children launched a statement to ask the EU institutions to prioritise children and families in their COVID19 response both in the short term and the long run. The statement asks the EU institutions to

  • Give children attention in the design of immediate response measures
  • Redirect EU Cohesion funds, FEAD and national budgets to support those at risk
  • Adopt a social and sustainable Europe 2030 Strategy
  • Adopt a Council Recommendation on the Child Guarantee
