The project lasted for 35 months from 01/12/2012 to 30/11/2015
Its concrete goal is to improve the transition from vocational education and training (VET) towards employment and provide 4 vocational schools and enterprises with specific information and practical suggestions to implement universal design in VET context. The objective of this is to guide all students, including those with disabilities, towards the open labour market. It will do so in four countries: Austria/Germany, Belgium, Norway and Slovenia.
- A strategy for use throughout Europe to help practitioners apply universal design in their local VET environment. This strategy is based on research carried out in the partner countries focusing on two key concepts of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: ‘universal design’ and ‘reasonable accommodation’.
- One VET programme in each partner country based on this strategy, adapted for the school and participating students. Programmes will develop a list of reasonable accommodations.
- A network of all committed to inclusive education, focusing now during INVESTT on stakeholders from the VET sector.
- A web based Knowledge Centre that will provide new and accurate information on inclusive VET.

A COLLABORATION TOOLBOX TO BUILD A SCHOOL FOR ALL
The general aim of the project is to promote inclusive education and lifelong learning for ALL learners. Evolving towards a “School for All” involves changes and modifications in content, approaches, structures and strategies. This change requires support for all partners in education. Inclusion will benefit from good collaborations between mainstream schools and special schools or centres.
Project partners have built up expertise in the fields of special needs, special needs education, inclusion and inclusive education. Partners aim at improving their current models of practise. Partners share a common belief in the importance of collaboration; mainstream schools working together with special schools or learning centres with the mutual objective of equality and a high standard of education for all.
