I introduce this Newsletter with a considerable sense of pride, and definitely a feeling of great relief! Compared to the daily work in maintaining the health and emotional wellbeing of the people that you as a member support, these concerns are of less significance, but we did have a mountain to climb.
COVID 19 meant we had to turn our planned Paris conference, the ‘Road to Employment’ into a series of sessions delivered virtually. More than that we also had to hold a General Assembly, Board meetings and committee meetings to implement our new Statutes.
The technical feat of doing all this activity on line could not have happened without the huge commitment of our staff team in Brussels, working from their homes. However it would have been for nothing without the active participation of you as our members and partners. More will be said on this elsewhere in the Newsletter, but so many people chose to join us on ‘Zoom’, it was truly humbling! Thank you.
Please enjoy this Newsletter, and take note that it will be nomination time soon for positions on the Board and for the honorary officers.
Despite the challenging, threatening times, I hope we find you safe and well.
