SAVE THE DATE. EASPD policy seminar "Unlocking job creation in the social services sector, the role of the EU?"
The seminar will discuss what the underlying barriers to job creation in the sector are via two recent studies recently launched by EASPD and will also be the opportunity for participants to discuss what impact a staff shortages in this field can have on the quality of life of people in Europe. 9th session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD, 14-16 June 2016
One more year an EASPD’s delegation will take part to the 9th session of the conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in New York from the 14th to 16th June 2016. Read more
2016 summer school on innovation, employment and inclusion in Alicante
For the third consecutive year, the Employment Foundation (Fundación Emplea) organises from 5 to 7 July in Alicante the 2016 Summer School. EASPD will be part of the summer school by co-organising an interactive policy workshop focused on the development of an inclusive labour market in Spain. Read more
EUROPEAN NEWS
Finland ratifies the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol
On 11 May 2016, Finland deposited its instrument of ratification concerning the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and its Optional Protocol with the Secretary General of the United Nations. The Convention and its Optional Protocol will thus enter into force for Finland on 10 June 2016. Read more
EU political agreement reached on websites and mobile apps accessibility
The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission agreed on the first EU-wide rules to make the websites and mobile apps of public sector bodies more accessible, especially for the blind, the deaf and the hard of hearing. Read more
Webinar on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The European network Mental Health Europe (MHE) organises on the 14th June 2016 a Webinar on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Read more
Mental Health Europe launches the campaign “Each of Us”
Mental Health Europe (MHE) has launched an anti-stigma and discrimination campaign called ‘Each of Us’. Read more
Eurochild network elects new President and Management Board
Eurochild announced the election of Norah Gibbons as its new President. Read more
EESC invites you to the Civil Society Days 2016
The Liaison group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) organises the Civil Society Days 2016 from May 31st to June 1st in Brussels, Belgium. This year the focus will be on migration and how Europe can be made more open and adapt to what needs to be seen as a structural change. Read more
