New application provides more accessible and person-centred learning for persons with intellectual disabilities

Social Skills Animation (SSA) has developed a digital application to enable persons with autism or another intellectual disability to learn and develop social and independent living skills.

The software is based on visual learning and relies on well-established methods of work: social stories and video modelling.  It provides a possibility to create a short animation and to record it for a learner which shows the action that needs to be learned and enables to create animations depicting real-life social stories, including the interactions between person and environment and personal interactions between people (verbal and emotional).

Social Skills Animation (SSA) is a company founded by Ekkinisi clinical centre for autism from Greece, Athens, set up to work on development of assistive technology for children and adults with autism.
