Press Release: “Europe needs a Social Infrastructure agenda, say Social Services and Investors”
On 27th November, the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) and the European Policy Centre organized a High Level Conference in Brussels with attendees from the social sector, investors, public authorities and representatives from the European institutions. The Conference aimed to address the current underinvestment into social care and support infrastructure throughout the European Union. Read more

On 23th November, the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) organized the Roundtable Discussion “Implications of the EU Working Time Directive (WTD) on the European Pillar of Social Rights.” The event, hosted by MEP Georgi Pirinski at the European Parliament, focused on a complex and important discussion: the impact of the WTD on the ability of service providers to deliver high quality care & support for persons with disabilities. The Post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework Must Invest In Children And Aim To End Child Poverty
The EU Alliance for Investing in Children has released a statement in response to the signing of the Interinstitutional Proclamation of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Gothenburg as the future Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) should contribute to translate the commitments of the proclamation into action. EASPD Call for Tenders: External evaluation of EASPD 2017 Work Programme and of 2014-2017 Strategic Action Plan co-financed through EaSI Programme
On 10th November, EASPD and Poraka organised the First Forum of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities in FYROM. This meeting was an important first step to create an informal national network of service providers, which will coordinate actions to fully implement UN CRPD in service provision. Read more

Commissioner Thyssen highlights the European Pillar of Social Rights and how the Pillar need to be "flanked by actions from national, regional and local authorities to make sure that people with disabilities are not left behind".
