The 2nd Annual SensAge conference 'Ageing People with Sensory Disabilities – Quality of Services and Their Impact' took place in Istanbul, on the 2nd July 2013.
The conference focused on sharing knowledge, good practices, and experiences. The best practices out of the Knowledge Base showcased on the project website were presented in Istanbul, such as:
- Communication when the hearing is failing, a Norwegian example of communication within a family where the father has lost most of his hearing;
- Dodir Zagreb Lujo, the history of a 74 years old deaf blind man;
- The Method Specialist Care, created to map the wishes of the inhabitants of De Vlasborch, a home for the visually impaired elderly.
Also the lecture of Ruth van Nispen on depression and anxiety in visually impaired older adults raised a lot of interest in the audience and it is available here.
