Read more …The Council of Europe is being called on by social care organisations to withdraw a draft protocol according to which measures as confinement, isolation, binding, drugging and electroshock would be used as a medical treatment in mental health care facilities. While working on a protocol allegedly intended to shelter persons suffering from mental conditions, the Committee on Bioethics of the Council of Europe is actually trying to find ways to force patients undergo interventions.
