EAPSD co-signs letter asking for the withdrawal of the Draft Additional Protocol to the Oviedo Convention

EASPD, together with 5 other organisations, has co-signed the attached letter addressed to the Committee on Bioethics of the Council of Europe, expressing deep concerns over the human rights violations potentially to be taken by the CoE. The letter asks for the withdrawal of the draft additional protocol to the Oviedo Convention according to which measures including confinement, isolation, binding, drugging and electroshock would be used as a medical treatment in mental health care facilities.
