The Covid-19 pandemic startled the world in early March as it abruptly distorted the way we conducted our day to day lives. Without much warning, we were forced to stay indoors to guarantee the safety of ourselves and others. Those who worked for an essential service continued to provide the services that others depended on. We all have had to adjust and adapt to a new situation that no one knows when will end. At EASPD we wanted to reach our members and keep on supporting them throughout this difficult time as we know the social sector has been one of the hardest hit in this pandemic. The idea behind our webinars developed from this need. For fourteen consecutive weeks we have identified relevant and pressing topics to discuss, and selected experts in the field to bring participants a dynamic one-hour session addressing the key issues affecting the sector during the pandemic. We covered a wide range of topics from how service providers have moved to online methods of support to ensuring cultural participation during the crisis. Each week we have welcomed participants in the hundreds from all across Europe as well as further afield, Canada, Haiti and Lebanon to name a few. As we hit pause on our webinar series for the time being, we would like to thank all of you who tuned in and participated and those that presented. We hope that you benefitted from the experience and knowledge that was shared. We also would like to give a special thanks to members of the EASPD secretariat, especially two members of the Development, Research and Innovation team who were behind the scenes every week making sure that the technology ran smoothly. We may not know when daily life will return to normal or indeed if we will have to change our perception of normal, but EASPD will continue to find new ways to support our members and the sector!
