Inclusion in telework!

ONCE Foundation is organising a webinar "Accessibility: the key for inclusive teleworking" on 27 April which will focus on the

Traditionally, persons with disabilities have been facing technological barriers in work ecosystems. These barriers were much more noticeable at the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic with the rapid increase of telework applications such as videoconferencing platforms. Finding solutions for various gaps that exist in teleworking is fast becoming a priority. But where do we begin?

ONCE Foundation is organising a webinar on 27 April from 10:00 to 11:30h CEST, "Accessibility: the key for inclusive teleworking", which will take have European-level representatives of groups of people with disabilities discuss the needs and technological barriers that some users face when teleworking, a situation especially aggravated with the start of COVID-19 that forcibly moved the office to other remote environments.

The event is a part of the ACCESSIBILITECH project with Lidia Best, president of the European Federation of the Hearing Impaired; Cristian Sainz, CIO of ONCE; and Soufiane El Amrani, expert in easy-to-read formats from Inclusion Europe speaking at the event. 

Also participating will be experts from leading technology corporations such as Christopher Patnoe, Head of Accessibility, Disability and Inclusion at Google in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and a representative from Zoom Video Communications, Inc. who will talk about the strategies and measures they have implemented to solve the major challenges of accessibility in teleworking. 

The webinar will be conducted in English and will include international sign language interpretation and English subtitling.
